Cleveland Web Designers
OK, so you have a Web site, and the top brass likes the way it looks. And your
customers haven't complained, so you're in good shape, right?
No, not necessarily.
A redesign might be in your future if one of the following
is true:
- Do you use one of
those ugly, repetitive background images that make visitors
ill?
-
Is your Web site wearing
the wrong outfit? In other words, do the colors clash?
-
Are the graphics humungous
so big that you can make a pot of coffee and warm
a bagel while waiting for it to appear on the page?
-
Do you display one
of those obnoxious counters that reveal to the world that
you've had 212 visitors since October 1997?
-
Could someone interpret
your text as dull, self-serving or long?
-
If you have navigational
elements, do they appear on the first screen, or would a
visitor need to form a safari team to hunt them down?
-
Do you give visitors
a reason to come back? Does your Web content change? Can
they order anything?
-
Is your site fun?
Do you include surveys or quizzes? Can anyone learn anything
besides the nature of your services and phone number?
-
Did you test the site
out with some of your customers BEFORE you went live? Odds
are, the people who use it could offer some frank advice.
-
Have you made an effort
to show visitors what you do rather than just tell them?
