Strategy:
Packed with corporate, product and industry information, APG Concrete Block features a Microsoft Access Database and dynamically generated pages. From a single Web page known as an Active Server Page (ASP), nearly 200 product pages are generated on-the-fly. The advanced ASP programming language "talks" with the database to retrieve the product images and descriptions. Original product pictures were black and white, but Kinetic Expressions colorized them during the production phase. The Product Showcase was designed to feature many facilities at one time with convenient links to larger images of the each building. In addition to links to national associations and other Oldcastle products, the site includes a locator map that displays details about each Oldcastle facility when a visitor mouses over a specific region. A useful table with identical information appears on the same page in case someone has a browser that doesn't support the map technology.
